Makaba's Ethical Code

Makaba follows a strict code of ethics.

We value the human experience at our very core. This automatically leads to several values and goals we're aiming for or have already achieved.

1. Makaba is against discrimination of any form. Every human deserves to live life peacefully, as their true self.

2. Makaba loves literature, art and the wonder that is human creativity. Thus, we will never use and allow generative AI models to interfere with our processes. All our images, illustrations, animations and texts are 100% human-made and will always be.

3. We value our earth and its products and source everything as close to our location as possible. Our ingredients stem from the Netherlands and packaging and glass come from Austria, Germany and Turkey.

4. Our candles are not 100% "natural", because many rare or endangered ingredients can be safely sourced through high-tech chemical engineering and are as safe or even safer to use, than their natural counterparts. (Ambergris or musk for example are animal products that luckily have artificial counterparts.)

However, for the biggest part, our fragrance formulas are based on natural oils. We strive for the highest quality of essential oils and use organic oils where possible.

5. Our fragrances are house-made and completely unique to Makaba. Every scent from Makaba has been finely crafted from zero to ensure it meets our vision.
